Compressors for Stationary Oxygen Concentrators (SOC)

A stationary oxygen concentrator uses compressed air flow, generated by oil-less air compressors, to deliver medical grade oxygen (93-95% O2 concentration) for long-term home oxygen therapy. Oil-less compressors are combined with a molecular sieve (Zeolite) to generate oxygen, either through pressure swing adsorption (PSA O2) or vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA O2). Vacuum swing adsorption (VSA O2) is typically used in larger gas plant applications, but could also be considered for certain SOC size and output ranges.

Compressors for Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC)

Portable oxygen concentrators are lighter and more compact than stationary versions, allowing patients to move freely at home and while travelling.

For this application, we offer Thomas WOB-L® piston compressors and THOMALAST diaphragm technology, which generate medical grade oxygen for long term home oxygen therapy. Currently used in both vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA O2) and pressure swing adsorption (PSA O2) systems, the technology could also be applied to vacuum swing adsorption (VSA O2) oxygen concentrators.
